The Santa Fe Film Critic Awards

The Santa Fe Film Critics Circle Awards were granted in 2000 for movies produced and released in 1999. The awards announcement took place on January 9, 2000 to recognize the talents of Hollywood actors, actresses, directors, cinematographers and documentary filmmakers. Awards from the Santa Fe Film Critics Circle were granted only for that year, and included a special distinction known as the Golden Chile Award.

About the Santa Fe Film Critics Circle
The Santa Fe Film Critics Circle was comprised of a group of Santa Fe-based directors, artist and film industry professionals who convened throughout the year to discuss the state of the industry in the Bay area, and also to recognize the works of national and international filmmakers, actors and actresses.

Today, the leading organization that recognizes films in similar genres and categories is the Santa Fe Film Festival Board, a group of award-winning journalists, authors, editors, educators and film industry professionals that support the works of local Santa Fe filmmakers and industry professionals, and also recognize the works of national artists.
